Just chalk this up as yet another reason why I love Twitter, just tweet a though and you may get a reply with a nice alternative. The other day I mentioned that I thought it was strange that we have not seen a dedicated iPhone app from Audible and in turn I was introduced to Bookmark.
“I’m awaiting Apple’s approval for an audiobook app: http://bookmarkapp.com The iPod is suitable but not ideal for audiobooks.”
Sure, Bookmark is not exactly the same as what I was looking for, but still, I love audio books and I am always interested in new apps for listening. As a side note, I am still using and loving Audiobook Player.
Anyway, in terms of Bookmark, the app is billed as an “enhanced audiobook player for the iPhone that works with any audiobooks in iTunes.” As for as what it features;
- Unlimited bookmarks with custom titles and notes
- Book-wide notes that can include URL’s
- Easier navigation than using the iPod for audiobooks. Bookmark’s time ribbon makes it simple to jump around your books in increments between 30 seconds and 30 minutes.
- Share and export your notes and bookmarks via email
Unfortunately, this app (Bookmark) has not yet received the approval for entry into the App Store. Hopefully, it will be approved soon, but in the meantime you can check out a Flickr set for some screenshots as well as a sneak peak video, which is directly below.
