As I mentioned the other day, there are more options available now that will instantly alert you of a new Gmail message than anyone can keep track of, however one that I have purchased and used for a little while was recently updated and it seems worthy of a mention.

The app is GPush, and despite having a rough start entering the App Store only to get pulled (at the request of the developer) it has proven to work really well since its return.

Anyway, in terms of the update, the app goes up to version 1.1 and brings a few welcomed improvements. New features include goodies such as new alert sound options, a clear badge counter, support for symbols in passwords as well as the ability to launch Gmail directly from the push notification. Additionally, GPush will also now be able to alert you of Google Voice notifications.

Finally, the GPush app is selling for $1.99.
