Disneyland iGuide Review

Disneyland iGuide Review

Without a doubt when we hear the happiest place on earth, we think of Disneyland. But unless you consider yourself a Disney fanatic, like I do, then you probably don’t know the magical streets of Disneyland by heart. So every time you go you grab a few of those nifty paper maps they have at the front entrance. But the problem with those little paper maps is they rip, they’re a nuisance to carry, or you lose them. Well forget the maps of the past and move into the future. And you don’t have to go to Tomorrowland to pick up this new handy device. Just look in your pocket and take out your iPhone.

Disneyland iGuide by Walkee is your key to the Magical Kingdom. This app is a virtual map of Disneyland directly on your iPhone. So you can view all three areas of the kingdom: Disneyland, California Adventure, and Downtown Disney! View the parks from above much like the paper maps. However, that’s where the comparison ends. Because iGuide has tons of more features that you just can’t out of those flimsy paper maps.

You can zoom in, view various icons, track your movement, make a checklist of where you’ve been, view special event and parade times, find your favorite Disney character, view ride requirements, and even see restaurant menus. First, you can zoom in anywhere in the three different area’s to get a closer look at your favorite ride. The makers of the app claim to have the most zoom out of all Disney maps. Second, you can see icons that identify food vendors, bathrooms, rides, shows, and more. Each icon is easy to identify and mark out. Third, and one of the best features of this app, you can enable a feature that marks which rides and attractions you’ve been to. A great feature to let the kids play around with. Fourth, you can see the days schedule of special attractions like parades and shows. So you won’t miss out on any of the Disney magic. Fifth, you can see where your favorite Disney character is posing for pictures in the park. Now you can make sure your kids will always go home with that perfect picture. Next, you can view ride requirements like height and health precautions. So your little musketeer doesn’t have to be disappointed by walking up the those accursed height signs. The last major feature allows you to view menus in all the parks restaurants. So no more walking back and forth, fighting over where to eat dinner.

You can also snap memorable photos in the app so you’ll have a memory that last a life time.  Users can record and submit their wait time in a line using the Line-Timer feature. You can even read up history and interesting facts on all rides and stores. All in all this is a fantastic application for anyone planning a trip to Disney. The one downside is having to carry your precious iPhone on hazardous roller coasters and water rides. But come prepared with a zip-lock bag and fanny pack and you’re set for the day! So if you’re on your way to the Magic Kingdom in the near future stop by the app store and pick up Disnleyland iGuide for just $2.99. And conquer the world of Walt Disney.

Verdict: 5/5 Stars

I have been a Walkee fan since it came out last year. Version 1.3 was good but 1.4 is awesome. It has so many features, I can't list them all here but trust me. this app is amazing.
