Friend Mapper is an app from Winkpass Creations that frequently updates your friends location and marks it on a map. This app might not seem very practical at first, and may even come off creepy. However, once you start to think about it, it’s a great idea. My number one example is group event. Say you’re at a party, concert, or anything with a large amount of people. And you’re trying your hardest to meet up with your friends. However, the rush of stranger keeps preventing you from hooking up. Well now you can view their location on a map, and avoid having to shout over the crowd noise trying to find them.

Friend Mapper maps and updates any ones location that is also using the app. So your friends do have to purchase this app if you want it to work. And they also have to have up and running in order for their location to be updated. If not, Fried Mapper will mark the spot there last transmission was tagged. The maps used by Friend Mapper are powered by Google, so you know they’ll be accurate and always up to date.

This app also allows you to call or text a friend while in the app. This feature is great if your waiting for someone to arrive and they have a bad sense of directions. Say you’re waiting at a bar for your friend Tom to show up. Well you call Tom up and tell him to turn Friend Mapper on. So you’re monitoring Tom walk from his apartment to the bar, and suddenly you see him take a wrong turn. Just hit the in app call button and tell him to turn around and keep going!

This app has countless ways to apply it, so don’t undermine it. Parents can use it to track their teens, suspicious girlfriends can use it to track potential cheating boyfriends, and you can use it to keep in touch with your friends! The one bad thing about this app is it requirements. All your friends need an iPhone and need to purchase Friend Mapper. And all your friends need it running constantly in order for you to track them. However, it’s still a great app and for $.99 it’s hard to complain about the price!
