Koi ponds dot thousands of yards worldwide. But why? Why is it people find it necessary to dig a giant hole, fill it with water then weird looking fish, and have to feed and maintain the pond on a daily basis? Well a lot of people find the feeling, sound, and look of a Koi ponds soothing and calming. I recently attempted digging a Koi pond in my backyard. At first it went well, didn’t take too long to dig the hole and I had it filled up with water in minutes. But about two days after I put the fish in, some of them started to die and the whole pond started smelling. It seemed like I did everything right and to this day I still don’t know what went wrong.
So the other day I was browsing the app store and came across an app called Koi pond 2.0. My first impression was puzzlement, considering I wasn’t previously familiar with the first Koi pond. But for $.99 I thought why not. I downloaded the app and started it up. On my screen was a pond with little Koi swimming around and mossy little pads floating on the surface. My initial reaction to something like this is poke the water! So I do and ripples echo through the pond. Then I try to tap a fish, but I don’t want to ruin the surprise so try holding you’re finger on the water for a few seconds and see what happens. You can also move the lily pads around to give your fishes some shade. But you don’t want your fish to starve do you? Well shake your device so sprinkle food throughout the pond. This application also has amazing, soothing sound to match the soothing images. So if you’re looking for a cheap app to have a little peaceful fun with then give it a try.

It's called research…..that's what you need to do before attempting to build a pond.
