Mint.com app gets updated, now at version 1.2 and offering Push Notifications

This past weekend saw the update of a more than a few apps, one of which was Mint.com. Now, I understand people seem to either love using, or will simply not even try Mint.com due to having to login with their personal bank details. Personally, I have chosen to use it for the fact that it makes managing multiple accounts easy with having just one place to log in. Understandably though some will always be afraid to use the service and while I would not want to try and convince you otherwise, I will say that Mint.com along with the iPhone app is very nice.

Anyway, getting back to the latest update. As I mentioned in the title the version is now at 1.2 and although there are a few improvements the one that I am most excited about are push notifications. As of now the app will be able to alert you for things such as going over budget as well as when (or if) you are charged a bank fee or see unusual activity on your account(s).

Of course, if you are already using Mint.com you will know those are already items that you can set and customize and have most likely been receiving email alerts for in the past. Personally for me, the idea that I can be alerted by push for any unusual activity is a nice feature and one that could alert me quickly to anything I may need to take care of.

Other improvements that came with version 1.2 include editable transactions and improved security. In short, the iPhone app has become much more usable as opposed to being mostly something to view. Finally, the app was and remains free to download and use.
