New survey suggests the average iPhone user has spent $80 on apps

A few months back I wrote a post about how much I had spent on apps for my iPhone, that number has since increased, however at the time it was $143.70. Initially I had thought that number was high, but thankfully I received more than a few comments letting me know I was not alone.

But now it seems that the average iPhone user has spent around $80 on apps, which once again has made me feel like I have spent more than I should. Regrets, none, for the most part I am enjoying the apps I purchased, although there are some that are not being used. Heck, there are some that are not even installed anymore.

But getting back to that $80 figure. That figure comes from a recent survey conducted by AppsFire. Their survey polled 1,200 users who each have about 65 apps on their iPhone.

“We used a sample of 1200 appsfire users (meaning that we know precisely what each user has) and took anonymously (we insist on the privacy respect), a picture of what’s exactly installed on each single iPhone. We then aggregated this data to produce a unique overview about what can be found “on average” in an iPhone.”

For those interested in checking out more of the data, you can view the presentation below.
