SlingPlayer Mobile now available for European iPhone users, still without 3G streaming
September 22, 2009 | Robert Nelson

Sling Media have recently announced the availability of the SlingPlayer Mobile app in Europe. Now first things first, the app is currently available and can be found in 16 countries which include France, Germany, Spain and Italy. Overall that sounds like good news, now there are plenty of people outside the US with access to a nice app, unfortunately just like the US version there are limits.
Those limits of course come into how you are able to stream, or more specifically the lack of 3G streaming. Again, this news is disappointing, but at the same time it shifts a little focus from AT&T, who took the brunt of the blame when the app was originally released back in May.
Otherwise, the app offers similar functionality in that it will allow users to watch and control their home TV and DVR from a remote location. It will also work only with a Wi-Fi connection and needs a Slinbox SOLO or PRO set-top box.
Finally, according to the press release announcement, the SlingPlayer Mobile app is priced at:
- Australia AUS$36.99
- Canada CN$29.99
- Denmark Kr179.00
- Euro Zone €23.99
- Israel $29.99
- Norway Kr165.00
- Sweden Kr229.00
- Switzerland SFr33.00
- UK £17.99
- US $29.99
