Time out! TimeLoop Game Review for iPhone

Time out! TimeLoop Game Review for iPhone

As far as puzzle games go for iPhone or iTouch it doesn’t get much more creative then word search or chess. Well forget those boring games and move into the future! Introducing TimeLoop, from Connect2Media. A puzzle game that revolutionizes the category.

The game’s main character is a silly little robot with one purpose, save the mad scientist! Seems easy enough right? Well unforunately, there’s a giant mad scientist’s lab between you and your goal. However, the most frustrating obstacle isn’t a flame shooter or alligator pit. It’s actually doors. But these aren’t your average, run of the mill doors. Some of them need to be sliced opened using the robots on-board welder. Some need special mind boggling codes. And some are timed to open only at a specific time. So where does the phrase Timeloop fall into the game?

Well when your robot can’t get through by himself he’ll have to grab a buddy. But there’s no one around. Well how about using a future or past version of yourself! That’s right, the TimeLoop features brings in a time clone of your robot to help you out. All you have to do is time it right, and your through that pesky door.

The levels grow in difficulty as you progress higher and higher to the mad scientist. Stack up extra points by saving cats along the way. Don’t ask why cats! You’re also awarded a medal at the end of each level based on how quickly it was completed. Obviously your shooting for gold, but I found myself striving just to get a silver instead of bronze. If your having trouble getting the hang of it in the first couple levels, the game has a few helpful hints to keep you going.

The graphis of this game are very well done, and compliment the game play well. The addition of a story in the beginning of the game helps add to the drama and almost encourages you. Another bonus was the music. It’s catchy and fits the setting. All in all this is a very addicting game and most every one will find it so. And for the small price tag of just $.99 it’s worth picking up!

Verdict: 5/5 Stars
