Amazon Kindle app gets updated, now at version 1.2

Once again, my daily “Check for Updates” in the Applications section of my iTunes has given me an updated version of the Kindle app.

This latest update brings the version up to 1.2, and with it comes a few additions and some bug fixes. Personally this update is not quite as exciting as the last when we saw the introduction of the ability to choose different background and text colors but still welcomed nonetheless.

According to the “What’s new in this version” section in the App Store listing, Kindle for iPhone users can expect;

  • Tap and hold on a word to create a note or a highlight. Whispersync will back up and synchronize annotations with your other Kindle devices
  • Locked portrait or landscape position is remembered across sessions
  • Bug fixes

Finally, as it was before, the Kindle app is available as a free download.

    I was really hoping the next update would include in-app purchases.
