Remember when iPod first came out? It had a few classic games on it, one of them being Parachute. You had to shoot the parachutists out of the sky before they landed on the ground. If you let to many land on the ground your base would be taken over and you would lose. Well Gogo Mobile has taken the old, classic game and put a spin on it with their new title, iCommander.
In iCommander, you’re the captain of a land based aerial assault cannon, and your goal is to stop all incoming aerial attacks. Attacks come in the form of helicopters, jets, and parachutist. Your ultimate goal is survival by keeping as many enemies off of your base as possible and rack up a high score while doing so.
So far the game sounds a lot like its original counterpart. But that’s where the similarities end. The graphics for this game are definitely a step above the old two-tone color scope of its predecessor. With vivid images of a jungle, mountain landscape in the background, detailed attack vehicles, and amazing sound effects, this game has been brought to a whole new level. The enemies have changed as well. Helicopters and jets now drop bombs as well as soldiers, so make sure you shoot both out of the air.
The controls for this game might be the most drastic change. Utilizing the new technology of the iTouch and iPhone, you control the direction of your gun via the accelerometer. Then fire via a touch button on the screen.
All in all this is a fun, addicting game that can pass some time while waiting. But don’t expect to spend hours on this app, because it will get boring after half and hour or so. Luckily, game play is pretty much different every time you play. So you won’t be wasting the $.99 you spend on this app. So give iCommander a try you won’t be disappointed!
