When I use the mic, it gets terrible sound, like a popping noise. Could it be a bad mic? do you have problems with the sound? When I use the mic, it gets terrible sound, like a popping noise. I often thought about having a Flip in my bag, but I would much rather have one device and a bunch of add-ons. One thing to mention is that its a good idea to turn on airplane mode in the phone (system settings) while recording - last thing you want is for a phone call to bust your shot, and it also prevents the weird cell phone audio buzz buzz. A friend at a camera shop has a ton of adapter rings and lens for the 37mm lens fitting, so I eventually will try out a telephoto and most definitely a fish eye (more than the .45x lens that comes with it). Great product - just watch for sharp edges around the cold shoe mount. I got mine for Christmas, and as a videographer, this thing rocks! The shoe is a cold shoe. It comes with the lens and hi impedance mic however I saw the demo of the 30-pin connector that allows for XLR mics. Just received mine today - it's built very solid, the body is indestructible. As many have said, size-wise (not pricewise) the Bubo is bigger than many AVCHD cams, but the real key is the iPhone functionality. You could get some amazing instantaneous video workflow out of this device, and if Apple enabled 720p, that would be even better. It has FOUR threaded mounts on top and bottom of the hand grips.
