NASA Gets On The iPhone App Train

Question: How do you know the iPhone has become a staple of modern culture? Answer: When NASA takes interest.

That’s right, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration has released its first official iPhone app today. The free app allows a user to explore various NASA missions like the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and Mars Exploration Rover complete with images, video clips and even NASA’s Tweets concerning the mission in question.

A bonus to tech junkies, the app allows anyone the ability to track the International Space Station’s whereabouts relative to Earth. Not that this knowledge will help you in daily life, it is nice to know that the government trusts us with such details.

The free NASA app is available right now in the App Store.
