OWLE Bubo gets official, will be available October 27
October 20, 2009 | Robert Nelson

Since I posted yesterday in regards to the OWLE Bubo there has been an official announcement in terms of price and availability.
It looks like the OWLE Bubo will go on sale as of Tuesday October 27 and retail for $99.95.
To give a little information, the OWLE Bubo is made of anodized billet aluminum and has been put through rigorous testing to make sure it is durable. Personally, I have not tested the durability of the unit that I received for testing in that same manner, but can say that I would not be afraid of anything happening to it in my day to day use.
Feature wise, the OWLE Bubo mount has threading for a standard 37mm lens as well as coldshoe mount for flash and/or mic and four tripod mounts. In terms of what it ships with, the OWLE Bubo mount will come with a;
“Vericorder microphone, an aluminum .45x wide-angle/macro combo lens, a rubber iPhone case and an instruction booklet with recommended apps.”
Anyway, if you want to read the full announcement, or check out some of the official images you can head on over to www.wantowle.com.
Finally, I know I did promise a few videos, and those are still coming but were delayed due to personal reasons yesterday. In the meantime, in addition to the videos, I am also putting together some more of my thoughts about the OWLE Bubo.

Awsome post!…..I’m a peripheral nut and even if I dont get this I think it’s cool…is it only for 3g and up?
i have tried it and the 2g fits inside the OWLE but its not a recommended product. personally i love the 2g. if you could fit 3gs hardware inside a 2g and pay extra i would have.
maybe im just an aluminum nut =P
Well it was supposed to be $30-$50 dollars and now this $99 deal? I think not. I’ll continue steadying my 3g by twisting my hand for free. Also they’ve been promising release for like a year now and I’ve read some really nasty rip off stories about the owner Harold Smith.
