Spell Check App Review

Spell Check App Review

Personally, I downloaded the Firefox browser to my computer for one specific reason, it’s spell check. In fact, I use the spell check feature every time I’m writing an article. Why has spelling become such a problem with today’s youth? Well, for one texting eliminates the need for kids to spell correctly. Nearly half of the words in my texts aren’t words at all! Sure, it saves a few seconds by shortening words and substituting symbols. But when we actually need to spell and we can’t, we’re in trouble. So how do we fix this problem? Simple, involve even more technology.

Spell Check, an app by Achoom, allows iPhone and iTouch users to check the spelling of any word in the English dictionary. The app is incredibly simple to use. Just start it up and type in a rough spelling of the word you’re looking for. Then the app will give you a list of words that are similar to the one you’re looking for. If you can’t decide which word you had in mind, then the app can give you a definition of each word. However, the definitions are rough and lack detail.

In a nutshell, this app is pretty helpful. Surprisingly, I used it a few times while writing this article. It’d be nice if the developers included a few more features like synonyms, antonyms, and better definitions. But for the price of just $.99 it has definitely earned a spot on my iTouch. Writers will love this app and the average person will most likely use it. So check out Spell Check now!

Verdict: 4/5 Stars

Unfortunately spell check doesn’t help with problems such as the its/it’s error in the first paragraph of this post!

can you give a reason to not just open up safari and do a quick google search? that’s typically what i do for the spelling of one word, but google is also capable of accepting multiple words at one time and correcting the words that need correcting. google ftw in my book.

i would, however, like a native iphone app for spell checking in the messages, email and browser. something blackberry does.
