Starting/ Driving Cars- There’s An App For That

The iPhone is already a device known for versatility, but some companies out there are proving that there are really no limits when it comes to developing useful apps. A company called Viper has recently released a free download called SmartStart that actually turns the iPhone into a remote car starter!

In addition to starting cars, the app has the ability to unlock doors and even set off a car’s alarm should you spy someone getting ideas around your idling car. Like most good things though, users have to pay to play as though the application itself is free, it requires a $300 module for the car and a $30 annual subscription.

Think that’s extreme, another app called iDriver not only fires up a car remotely but it actually allows a user the ability to drive the car remotely with their iPhone! We’re not exactly sure of the benefit to doing this nor imagine it’s legal, but this app is certainly a testament to the concept that there are no limits when it comes to developing iPhone applications.
