Swine Time Game Review: Pigs Fly?

Swine Time Game Review: Pigs Fly?

It would appear that the recent “epidemic” of the H1N1 virus, or Swine flu, has influenced yet another game developer to cash in. Swine Time, by Vito Technology, is the newest edition to the world of games that poke fun at over exaggerated events happening around the world. Since the dawn of the cheap entertainment app, each major catastrophe has gotten their own following of silly games. From Hurricanes, to wide spread diseases, to wars, chances are a little game has been made out of it. The big surprise with this particular app, it’s actually fun!

Swine Time is a game centered around a little flying pig whose soul goal is to survive. The pig is trapped inside of a loop formed by a giant caterpillar. But that’s just the beginning of the weirdness. Stuck inside the loop with you are four dangerous swine flu viruses. You have to navigate your pig inside the loop, while attempting to keep the viruses from touching him. As soon as your little piggy gets touched by any of the viruses he dies! There’s no extra lives or minus points, you just have to start the game over. The goal is to last as long as possible, and the amount of time you last is your score.

You navigate by placing your thumb on the indicated pad at the bottom of the screen and moving it around. For example, roll your thumb to the right and your piggy flies right. That’s as simple as the controls are. The only other feature you might want to be aware of is the timer in the bottom left corner that keeps track of how long you’ve survived.

A great addition to this game is the ability to post your high score onto an international score board. Think you have an amazing score? Compare it to players around the world and you might be surprised!

All in all this is a fun, addictive game. For $.99 it’s a great addition to any ones iPhone or iTouch. It’s a great way to pass time in work or school, but don’t tell my teacher!

Verdict: 4.5/5 Stars
