Apple have been a little slow jumping on the Twitter bandwagon, with up until now the @iTunesTrailers account being their only official presence, however this has just changed with the addition of four new accounts on the micro-blogging network. These are:
@iTunesMusic, @iTunes Movies, @iTunes TV and @iTunes Podcasts.
Alright, so none of these are going to be offering anything drastically different to the iTunesTrailers feed, but seeing as that has 1.1 million followers, you can see why that won’t matter! However, just because Apple aren’t talking about their products on Twitter, it doesn’t mean nobody else is. Here are ten Twitter users who regularly talk iPhone or directly work with apps for it. We’ve mixed in some lesser known accounts with a couple of heavy users too.
@popcap_games
Official feed of the game developers responsible for Peggle.
@iphone_dev
Main feed for the Dev Team with plenty of PwnageTool news and iPhone comment.
@MuscleNerd
A separate and far more techy feed from one of the Dev Team members.
@joehewitt
He may work for Facebook, but this is the man behind the current, and very impressive, iPhone Facebook app.
@arepty
Another developer, this time for the Lab Tick app. Lots of iPhone and Mac chat.
@shoesmith81
Rob Showsmith is the creator of A Problem Halved, an app developed via the App Incubator and Medlmobile. Covers the promotion and life of the app.
@AriX
An app developer who chats on all things tech and iPhone related. Oh, and he is just 15 years old.
@ravenme
Founder of the iPhoneDevCamp and creator of the Obama campaign iPhone app. Lots of tweets on a variety of subjects.
@stephenfry
One of the best known Twitter users, Stephen is also well-known for his iPhone geekiness.
@ijustine
If you don’t know who she is, then this should answer you question. One of Justine’s last tweets referred to the trending topic #igotacrushon. Her response was Steve Jobs. Apple and iPhone fan extraordinaire.
There are many more blogs and app feed Twitter accounts, but many just add links to posts, with little or no conversation on the subject, hence we have omitted them here. But we’re always interested to hear of any Twitter users you follow who should be added to this list, so tell us about them in the comments.
