Time to share; my current iPhone setup
October 6, 2009 | Robert Nelson
A little while back I spend the weekend at BarCamp Tampa and just like you would expect when you put a room full of geeks together — there were more than a few times that I found myself checking out an iPhone and the apps that were installed. My iPhone was passed around between quite a few people as well. Personally, I find it interesting to see what others have installed, and it seems I am not alone in that thought.
That said, I had been thinking of sharing my screen setup here on iPhoneFreak, and then I saw TUAW do the same just the other day.
With that I thought what better time than now to share. I will say though, I am not sure there is anything terribly exciting on my iPhone, or maybe I just think that because I am used to the apps and layout that I have. Just maybe someone else can find something interesting.
My screen layout consists of;
- Screen 1 – What I call ‘general’ apps
- Screen 2 – My commonly used apps
- Screen 3 – Imaging and entertainment (music, audiobooks ect.)
- Screen 4 – News
- Screen 5 – Games (funny because this section if full and the least likely to be used)
- Screen 6 – Settings
- Screen 7 – Misc. (apps I may delete soon, just installed or am testing for a review.)
And last but not least, my lock screen. So without further adieu, here are my screenshots.

Hey Dude,
Just saw your tweet about BarCamp … I actually live in St. Pete!
I couldn’t make BarCamp, because I was out of town, but we should get together for lunch sometime.
Talk with you soon,
Ryan
dude…..are you jailbroken?..seems like i read that you are…and if so are you recieving push notifications?…( i see you have growl and quite a few notification badges) if not I apologize for assuming but again as often as I read this blog I thought that you were…if you do have push working on a jailbroken phone is it a 3g?…still trying to figure out how to get my push working on my jailbroken 2g
thanks
@ Ryan
Very cool, always nice to meet a local. Lunch would be great, I am just up the road (Tarpon Springs) from St. Pete.
@WyzePro
Yes, my iPhone has been jailbroken, actually has been for a long time now. I do have push working on my 3GS, but did not do anything to get it working. It just worked, which from some of the reports that I read, that was lucky. Sorry I could not offer more in the way of assistance.
This might be a dumb question, but I assume your phone is unlocked and running on a different carrier than AT&T?
Thanks.
Hello
I just saw your layout for your iPhone and I have a quick question. How did you get your lock screen to have appointments and apps on the screen and can this be done on an iPhone 3g
Thanks for any help.
Tim
@Andy,
My phone is jailbroken, but not not unlocked, I still use AT&T.
@Tim,
The calendar on the lock screen comes from an app called Lock Calendar. You can read some more about that here;
http://www.iphonefreak.com/2009/10/apps-that-make-me-willing-to-jailbreak-lock-calendar.html
The apps are from an app called mQuickDo, I will be writing a post about that in the next day or two.
