In all honesty, I could care less about celebrities and their lives. However, for the sake of the faithful iPhonefreak.com readers I’m willing to do almost anything. So I thought I would shift my review focus for a day onto an app I would originally never buy, the Access2Go gossip app. Access2Go is an app derived from the popular NBC TV show Access Hollywood. The show is all about celebrity gossip and news. For example, if a celeb is caught stealing, drinking, speeding, or just doing something embarrassing chances are its on Access Hollywood.
Access2Go brings all that entertainment directly to your iPhone. When you initally start the app, the first thing you’ll notice is the striking dark blue and jet black interface. It’s clear that quite a bit of attention was paid to the look of the app during development. The first page the app will bring up contains a collage of celebrity images. Feel free to shuffle the images around and pick the most interesting one. By double tapping the image, you’ll be taken to that stories page.
Once your at a story page, tap the read button to view the full entry. Or tap the arrow button to move to a different story. Tapping the channel button along the top of the screen will take you to a list of recent stories and scandals. This app also gives users the ability to interact. For example, you can make your opinion heard by tapping the Fab or Flub button, you can vote in a daily poll, or you can sign up for the Access Hollywood newsletter or SMS breaking news report!
All in all this is an extremely polished, well done app that delivers. Admittedly I wasn’t too excited to test this one, however I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely recommend Access2Go. Obviously, fans of gossip will love this app. But I’m confident the average user will, at the very least, get a kick out of the stories and pictures. At the extremely low price of absolutely free this app is a steal. So check it out now!
Verdict: 5/5 Stars
