This news should be nice for any current Bejeweled 2 users that have also been touched by the Facebook app called Bejeweled Blitz. It seems that PopCap Games is going to be adding Bejeweled Blitz to the current Bejeweled 2 app, and as a bonus it will come as a free update.
The iPhone version of Bejeweled Blitz will come with Facebook Connect support, so iPhone users will be able to keep competing with their Facebook friends while on the go. Read: (sarcasm) thanks PopCap for helping to me to remain anti-social while away from my computer.
Anyway, according to Games.com, the iPhone version of Bejeweled Blitz “works seamlessly with the Facebook version of the game.” Additionally, it was also noted as having “the same high production values expected from any official Bejeweled game.”
All in all, this just means one more way for me to waste time on my iPhone. Yes, for some reason I love Bejeweled. And as much as I hate to admit it, I have had this game in one form or another with me on smartphones ranging from the early days with a Palm device to Windows Mobile to the iPhone.
Again, the Bejeweled Blitz game will be included with the current Bejeweled 2 game which will come as a free update. And as you would expect, a release date cannot be given, but that said the update has already been submitted to the App Store for approval.
As is, the Bejeweled 2 app is available in the App Store and selling for $2.99.
