A Twitter message that came over the weekend alerted me to an app update that I had been waiting for. The message was short and simple, yet very welcomed.
“The latest version of Bookmark (1.1.1) was approved today. Come and get it!”
You see, this latest update brings a few welcomed changes. To begin with the Bookmark app has removed the splash screen which resulted in faster startup times, your book will also begin playing where you previously left off at the last listen and there was an option added for shake control.
But perhaps the most exciting part is backgrounding, which means that you can now do a very simple thing like listen to your audiobook and check your email, SMS messages or surf the web at the same time.
In addition there was also a promise of better support for MP3 books and podcasts coming in a future version. The Bookmark app is currently available in the App Store (link below) and selling for $2.99.
