One of the most useful applications on the iPhone, Bump, now has an Android Marketplace sibling. And most importantly, the two can communicate across platforms. Bump is basically a very simple way to share your contact information with new people that you meet, and now it’s far more useful since it’s not just restricted to iPhone users. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the application popping up on other platforms as well, which would quickly make Bump far more preferable to handing out business cards among smartphone users.
The iPhone app is getting some nifty upgrades as well. A new “Friend Compare” feature allows you to easily see if you have any mutual friends with people you meet, further Facebook integration alerts your feed when you’ve “bumped” with someone, and a new history feature lets you see when, where, and who you’ve recently “bumped” with. The Android app doesn’t have these newer features yet, but I suspect they’ll be coming along soon.
You can download Bump free from the App Store here.

John, did you manage to make the app work, because mine crashes too. I think it crashes when the app tries to sync the weather…
