The Commodore 64 emulator had been approved and added to the App Store back in the beginning of September. Of course, that app was also quickly removed due to a little back door trick that left a BASIC interpreter open for users. Which if you remember back, that BASIC interpreter was one of the original reasons the app was denied entry into the App Store to begin with.
Anyway, the app which goes by the name of C64 and comes courtesy of Manomio LLC is now back and available for download. Price wise it will set you back $4.99 and although that back door to the BASIC interpreter has been closed the app still promises to offer an “authentic C64 gaming experience.”
Games that are included with the C64 app are Dragons Den, Le Mans, International Basketball, International Soccer, International Tennis, Jupiter Lander, Arctic Shipwreck and Jack Attack.
Other features include portrait and landscape play modes, classic C64 sounds and auto-save.
Additionally, more games are promised to be coming by way of in-app purchases in future version of the C64 app.
