Here is why version 2 of the RssPlayer app was denied App Store entry

A few weeks back we saw the news that RssPlayer version 2 was out, except there was an issue that caused the version in the App Store to not be able to install, that required the developer to resubmit to Apple and alas RssPlayer was denied entry.

The kicker here is the reason, the app contained an image of an iPhone.

“We have received an email from the app review department at Apple. They have rejected the app due to an image of the iPhone that appeared on the Default splash screen.”

Yup, Apple denied the app because it had a picture of an iPhone on the splash screen that shows during the launching. And the real annoyance here is that image of the iPhone is nothing more than a cover image for a podcast — a podcast called “The iPhone Spotlight” that is currently available in iTunes.

And thats it, I am not even sure what to say, other than wake up Apple. And for those unfamiliar, this splash screen displays for a few seconds and the iPhone image was just one small piece of about 24 total images. In other words it was barely even noticeable.

But on a happier note, that issue was taken care of by the developer and the ball is back (once again) in the hands of Apple. Lets hope that it makes it into the App Store this time.
