HootSuite announce plans for an upcoming Twitter iPhone app
November 24, 2009 | Robert Nelson

First things first, I am sure just reading the title has caused plenty of people to say something along the lines of “why do we need another Twitter app for the iPhone.” Rightfully so, and to be honest I would probably be thinking the same thing, that is assuming that I was not using the web-based version of HootSuite for my Twitter needs. That said, if you like Twitter and have not checkout out HootSuite, you may want to, it has a decent interface, and lots of features.
But moving on, HootSuite recently had some planned offline time to add additional features, and when it returned I was greeted with a nice message letting me know about the new features, but it also mentioned an the upcoming iPhone app.
“HootSuite iPhone App (Coming Soon!)
import your tabs & columns, view your stats and schedule tweets on the go!”
Unfortunately, the information was spare, other than that little tease of what the app will feature and that it is coming soon.

I'm excited to that HootSuite will soon offer an iPhone app! I use both Tweet Deck and HootSuite, but I prefer HootSuite, primarily due to its 'scheduling' feature. I also find Hootsuite out-performs TweetDeck in its ability to manage multiple Twitter profiles. Their tab + column interface is much better than TweetDeck's column-only approach. Hootsuite also offers great stats. Plus, since HootSuite is web-driven, I can simply keep another tab open in Firefox, versus running yet another software application (TweetDeck) and slowing down my MacBook.
When the Hootsuite app comes out, I may drop TweetDeck altogether.
I have an answer but you?re not going to like it.
