RssPlayer version 2.1 now available in the App Store

RssPlayer version 2.1 now available in the App Store

Despite a previous false start, the updated (and working) version of the RssPlayer app is now available in the App Store. Which is version 2.1.

As to what we can expect in terms of new features; first and foremost is the addition of push notifications for new episodes. But there were also improvements made in relation to search, the interface was modified to add “more intuitive controls” as well as more support for languages other than English and the ability to backup your podcast list to an OPML file.

And for those that have not used the RssPlayer app, it can be purchased for $0.99. Now for that buck you will be able to manage your podcast habit without the aid of iTunes. The RssPlayer app will allow you to maintain a subscription list, check for new episodes and also download new episodes regardless of where you are using a Wi-Fi, 3G or EDGE connection. There is also no limit as to the size of the file that you download.

Bottom line, if you are someone who listens to podcasts on a regular basis, and are on the go or just hate to be tied to iTunes in order to get new content than RssPlayer is well worth your $0.99.

Actually, the AppStore says it's version 2.1, but when you download the application itself, it says it's version 2.0.x
