This Week’s App Store Updates – 13th November

Here’s a look at six apps new or updated on the iTunes App Store this week.  As always, the links take you directly to the app in the store.  Enjoy and let us know if you try any of them out.

Shazam Encore.

A premium version of the music recognition service.  You’ll be paying for music recommendations based around your searches, lists of similar titles and a car mode created to help identify songs playing on your radio.  The free Shazam is still available, but will be limited to five searches per month from now on.

Outer Empires.

If you liked Elite and are keen to find a truly massive multi-player online game for your iPhone, Outer Empires may just satisfy your needs.  Online only, you can play via Wi-Fi, 3G or even EDGE, and the game involves flying missions, colonization of planets, trading and developing your character.  You can play Outer Empires both on your iPhone and sync with a version on your computer too.

Sheeple.

It’s a little like Lemmings but with people is the best description of this game.  It has been out for a while, but this update has added some new levels, music, gameplay tweaks and plenty more, making it even more worthy of your attention.

Bejeweled 2.

Match jewels, score points.  It’s amazing how something so simple can be so addictive!  A new update has added Bejeweled Blitz, the same one minute challenge you’ll find on Facebook, complete with syncing leaderboards too.

CoPilot Live.

This navigation app has received an update this week, with enhanced GPS and iPod controls at the top of the list of changes.  CoPilot Live has many versions covering Europe, Australia and North America and is a worthwhile purchase if you’re looking for turn-by-turn navigation.

TweetDeck.

If you’re serious about Twitter, TweetDeck is one of the most versatile desktop clients going, and now this updated iPhone version gains Facebook support, video upload from the 3GS and many more new features.  It’s free too.
