TomTom has just released an update for their navigation app, which brings it up to version 1.2. And thankfully they included a few goodies which include updated maps (from version 8.30 to 8.35), an updated POI database and an updated IQ Routes database.
Additionally, the update includes Advanced Lane Guidance, Advanced Text-to-speech, and a new Help Me! emergency menu.
But perhaps a little more exciting is that this version now offers support for the iPod touch and the original iPhone. Of course, to use either of those models, you will need to also purchase and use the car kit.
Finally, the app remains priced at $99.99 and comes in at 1.30GB in size.

I bought the tomtom car kit when it came out. Got it hooked up. Works great with the iphone 3GS. I also have a gen1 touch. When the update came out yesterday I loaded it up on the touch, only to find out that the car kit doesn’t fit the touch! ARGH!
