Coming just a few weeks after we first heard details, the dedicated Google Wave app for the iPhone and iPod touch is now available in the App Store.
The app is going by the name of Waveboard and is priced at $0.99. Additionally, as a sidenote, there is also a desktop version of Waveboard available for Mac users.
Feature wise, the app is described as “a very simple front end for Google Wave.” And goes on to state that “this client shows the standard web presence for mobile devices provided by Google Wave.” In other words, this sounds to me like a pre-packaged web-app.
One nice item that was noted as coming in the future are push notifications. Unfortunately they are not included in this first release.
Of course, for those that do not want to pay the buck for this app, I will offer a reminder — the Google Wave website does play nicely with the iPhone browser. Now if I could just find a good use for Wave, because I so badly want to like it.

My idea for wave is to help maintain collaboration for an iPhone app. I plan on building one and have some friends help with the process and I think wave would be the best way to keep it all together and have everyone collude easier.
That is my idea for wave (when I finally get it).
