Jailbreak, iPhone Hacks

Yet another iPhone worm makes the rounds, this one targeting Dutch ING bank users

And the damn that is holding back the worm floodgate seems to be giving way just a little bit. Of course for the vast majority of iPhone users there is still nothing to worry about, which means that yes, this latest threat is once again targeting those that jailbreak.

This latest worm goes a little more specific though, according to the BBC it is “targeting people in the Netherlands who are using their iPhones for internet banking with Dutch online bank ING.”

So in reality the only people that should be concerned with this latest threat are those that jailbreak, have SSH installed and use the Dutch online bank ING.

That said though, at least for those that may be in that category — listen up because it could potentially steal your banking details. What this worm actually does is allow the hacker to take control over your iPhone and give you a fake ING Direct page at which time they will simply steal your username and password.

The one nasty part here is that this worm has the potential to spread because it can move from jailbroken iPhone to jailbroken iPhone as long as they are on the same wireless network.

But ultimately what this comes down to, just like the previous worms that we have told you about recently — if you are jailbroken and have SSH enabled then change your root password.
