Developer gets his 1000+ apps removed from the App Store for faking reviews

It looks like another developer has been caught doing something shady, and in turn that shady behavior has resulted in their apps being pulled from the App Store and them being banned from submitting any in the future.

The developer in hot water goes by the name of Molinker and had a reported 1,011 apps in the App Store. Which that alone is not the issue, but it was discovered that many of those apps has more than 50 five star reviews. And no, having lots of good reviews is not bad, but in this case many of them were reported to have been written in the “same syntactically shaky style.”

According to the details, Molinker was purchasing his own apps using the free promo codes and in turn giving them good reviews.

The nice part about this story, well, aside from having a bunch of shady apps removed making way for something better is that this was discovered and pursued from the iPhoneography blog and one of their readers.
