Five Very Strange iPhone Apps

Five Very Strange iPhone Apps

We are all aware that the iTunes App Store contains a dizzying array of applications, from productivity enhancement and weight management to drinking-but-not-really-games and flatulence related apps.  Truly, something for everyone.

But what if you’re a fan of the odd?  The unusual?  The downright strange?  Not to worry, there are a few for you too!  Here are five such examples:

Ruben & Lullaby.

Ruben and Lullaby are having their first lovers quarrel and it’s down to you whether they make up or break up.  By moving, shaking and stroking your iPhone, musical notes are played according to the mood of the onscreen couple, creating a jazz piece accompanying their open-ended argument.  Ruben & Lullaby is clever, inventive, strangely soothing and yes, very unusual!

Breathing Objects.

Start the app, watch the odd visual effects displayed on screen for a couple of minutes and then look at your surroundings, where things around you should look as if they’re expanding then contracting!  Does it work?  It probably depends on the person, but it’s certainly odd.

Mega Girlfriend Sleep With Me.

This seems perfectly normal!  If you’re having trouble sleeping at night and want to share your bed with a lady, obviously your first port of call would be the app store, where you would purchase this.  Vacant-eyed Mega Girlfriend can be placed in different positions in various states of undress, all set to share a blissful nights sleep together.

Sasamekisscomi.

This app is a tie-in with an anime named Sasemeki Koto, so one would expect it to be a platform game or slightly skewed RPG, right?  Wrong.  It’s a game designed to improve your kissing technique, which is done by kissing the onscreen representation of Kazama Ushio -  – a character from the show who’s actually into girls – who then gives you marks and pointers.  We’ll just say that again: you have to kiss your iPhone, so perhaps not one for the train ride home from work.

Oracle Board ‘Ouija’.

‘It’s More Than Just a Game’ went the tagline to 80s horror-cheese Witchboard, which you can now recreate with Oracle Board ‘Ouija’!  Play on your own or with friends and watch the planchette spell out messages from beyond.  Tawny Kitaen not included.
