Thanks to Ethan of Angered Brackets, we now have a little how to in regards to building an iPhone (or any device) mount for your bicycle. Which for those that are avid cyclists should be welcomed news. Personally I ride more for sport, but this should be just as nice for those that commute. It will also make a nice bonus for those of us that use apps to track our progress because this will put the data out front and in easy access while on the go. Just as a side note, both the RunKeeper and SportyPal apps work nicely for recording and tracking your progress using the internal GPS.
But getting back to the mount. According to the post, is can be made for just about $5. Which to me sounds much better than buying a pre-built mount and spending quite a bit more money. Plus its always fun to build something, even if that something is on the simpler side.
Of course, that $5 price tag may vary a little depending on prices in your area and what supplies you may, or may not already have on hand. That said, Ethan used a cheap silicone case, detachable flash light mount and some glue. If interested head on over to Angered Brackets, where in his post Ethan gives a little more detail to include links to some of the same supplies that he purchased.
