The official announcement has come from Vodafone UK — iPhone sales will begin as of January 14, 2010. And while its a little disappointing that they will not be available for the holiday season, it did hold true to their earlier announcement which came back in September and stated “early 2010.”
The pricing and plan information was also released and it looks like the lowest priced plan will come in at £30 a month (about $48 US) for 24 months. Of course with that plan the iPhone will also set you back £59 for an 8GB iPhone 3G or £239 for the 32GB iPhone 3GS. Additionally, Vodafone UK will also be offering the chance to get the 8GB iPhone 3G for free — that is as long as you sign a 24 month agreement at £35 a month.
Data wise, both consumer and business customers will be limited to 1GB of transfer per month. But on the positive side, there will also be an optional tethering plan available. Price wise, the tethering will set you back £5 for 500MB of transfer.
