[UPDATE] Congrats Jenn Ryan and @wyzepro, send me an email at areyouageek (at) gmail (dot) com and let me know where you would like me to send your chargers.
Courtesy of PhoneSuit I have been given the opportunity to test several of their products. And in the end that will benefit a few lucky iPhonefreak readers because I will be giving these review items away. That said, read the review and then find out how to enter to win.
To begin with, I am reviewing an external battery, a few screen protectors and the USB wall and car chargers. First up, as you have most likely already guessed by the title of the post are the two chargers.
Fortunately this review will be on the short side, and the contest will be easy to enter.
USB Wall Charger
This unit is simple, basically it is a plug that fits in a standard wall power outlet. Nothing overly fancy here, the plug is on the backside, the USB port is on the bottom and the front is sporting a little LED indicator light. In terms of the plug itself, that is retractable which does make it a little nicer for those on the go — less to get stuck, caught or broken when in a gear bag. As far as that LED indicator light, it simply lets you know that you have a good power outlet, which can be nice when in a hotel and not familiar with each outlet. After all, nothing would be worse than thinking your were charging your phone overnight to wake up and realize you had a dead plug. Moving on, the overall design is nice, the side and back has a rubber coating and the front is metallic.
In terms of the specs; the power input is 110V – 240V, the USB port output is DC 5V 800ma and this plug is compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.
Overall the charger was great, I plugged into the wall and plugged my iPhone 3GS (as well as several other USB powered gadgets) and was able to get a full charge in a timely manner. With that it works great. The one disappointment was in terms of quality, the sides felt a little thin and flexed a little more than I would like when pulling the plug in and out of the wall.
USB Car Charger
Again, this one offers a simple design. Basically you have the part that plugs into your car and then two USB ports for charging your gadgets. The USB ports are each on separate sides of the plug which means there is no issue when you try and plug two devices in at the same time. Additionally, there is a small blue LED indicator light just above the USB ports that show the device is being charged. The charger itself is metallic and feels very durable.
In terms of the specs; the USB output is DC 5V 2A, the USB single port output is DC 1A and this plug is compatible with “most” USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.
Overall this charger was great and gave me no reason for concern. It offers a solid design and charged a variety of USB devices that I plugged in.
Bottom Line
Overall I am really happy with both devices, and PhoneSuit products in general. In fact the only real item that comes to mind is that I would like to see these chargers combined making one device that I can take from home to car.
Finally, both the wall charger and the car charger can be found on the PhoneSuit website. Price wise, they can currently be purchased for $19.99 each.
Now for the giveaway. I have two chargers, so therefor we will have two winners. Entering to win is simple, just leave a comment below and two people will be picked at random. The contest will end at 5pm on Friday December 4, 2009. Just make sure you leave me a way to get in contact with you.

that car charger is pretty nifty. would definately like that to replace the one i bought from AT&T. If they carried it even i would have bought that instead just on looks alone.

As a new iPhone user, I am shopping for car chargers and this would make an early Christmas present.

It seems that there is always one thing that iPhone users have in common- Huge need for power! All the products above sound like they hit the mark for performance. I am impressed by the style too!

Hi there, this would be really useful for me!
I live in the UK, so if I'm chosen for the wall-adaptor would it be possible to have one with a UK power socket?
Thanks very much, and keep up the good work on the website – I particularly enjoy your posts regarding jailbroken applications.

I just bought one of those usb wall chargers for my ipod touch but there are many times that I am in my car the car charger seems like a great idea, and usb is nice cause it could charge any usb device.

Thanks for the heads up. You would think with spell check I would not see that kind of foolish error.

Hey Baby…How you doin'?
Sorry…I couldn't resist…everyone else was sooooo SERIOUS! LOL!
I actually found you because my USB cable is kaput! The rubber at the part that plugs into the iPhone is broken & therefore wires are exposed & naked!
I was just lookin' for some better options for charging little battery eater!
If you think I might like these PhoneSuit options…then…My Hey Baby was all worth it!
Thanks!

I might look good in a phonesuit in court. Cool gadget.
December 2nd, 2009 at 2:17 pm
The Phonesuit looks like a good (I particularly like red) addition to the myriad accessories for iPhone. A better wall charger is always welcome especially one with LED indicators.
Thanks for your blog. It is very useful when picking accessories.

Both chargers sound great, but I really like the car charger w/ the two USB ports.
December 2nd, 2009 at 5:16 pm
Being able to plug two iPhones in at once for the car charger is a nice feature for long trips with my multi iPhone family.

I need a car charger! and I need to win something
December 3rd, 2009 at 5:21 am
I'd like to give that car charger a try… i bought the powerjolt dual universal from Griffin and it stopped working after a month. I emailed them and they told me they'd send me a new one if i smashed the non-working one to pieces and sent them the pictures so i did and got my replacement today and it doesn't even work. haha .. griffin sucks… [email protected]

I haven't really given car chargers much thought in the past because I always made sure to be fully charged upon entering a car. Now that you brought it up, a car charger is a nice accessory and one that Apple should think of including as sort of an option on the next gen of iPhones. [email protected]

The USB car charger is superb, just what i needed to keep my phone going!
December 3rd, 2009 at 5:16 pm

I think they both look nice and clearly, this is a "style" accessory–I mean, there are a lot of car and wall chargers, but these are more "designed." Good luck to me

iPhone combines three amazing products – a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching – into one small and lightweight handheld device.
