If you are running a 3G it activated the phone automatically via iTunes when you connect it. The original iPhone does not activate this way and during the jailbreak it also hacktivates the iPhone so you never get a certificate from apple and push does not work at all. PushFix 1.0 uses the same certificate for everyone who runs it on their iPhone so you end up getting other people push notifications and other people receive yours.
