A while back I came to the conclusion that I have spent (as of May 21, 2009) a total of $143.70 on iPhone apps. And since then I have only added to that amount, but now there is a new tool that will make it a little easier to keep track of how much you have spent. As opposed to what I did, which was save all my iTunes receipts and add them up manually.
The new tool is an app, and unfortunately is only available for Mac users. But that aside, it is called App Store Expense Monitor and what it does is check the apps that you currently have stored in your iTunes folder and then takes that list and builds a price list.
The one downfall here is that this is not going to be 100% accurate because it can only poll the current price of the app. And that means you may have purchase the app before a price drop. But that aside, its still kind of a neat little tool, and a pretty easy way to get a rough idea of how much you have spent so far.
Of course, on the positive side, you are able to make changes to the price list in the Expense Monitor. And that means you still can get a 100% accurate total, even if it may take a little extra work.
Anyway, if interested in hearing how much your app addiction has cost you then hit the link below to download the app.
