Memory Stick App Review: Share and Move Files

Computers have come a long way since they first appeared on the scene way back when. They use to be mammoths, taking up whole rooms or building and requiring a massive power source. However, now the majority of us carry around computers in our pockets and plug them into the wall to charge them. One of the biggest strides technology has made is it’s ability to share data and information. We can simply plug a tiny little flash drive into any computer, upload information and then walk away with it. But if you’re like me then you’ve forgotten your flash drive a time or two and left it in the computer. Well don’t worry about that anymore thanks to the Memory Stick app by Softalk Ltd.

Memory Stick is an app that allows you to upload and view files on your iPhone or iTouch. First, you’ll need to ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi. Then your device will display an IP address that you’ll need to enter in a browser on your computer. That page will then allow you to browse through all of your files on that particular computer and send them to your device wirelessly.

While the files are stored in the app on your device you can view them. For example, if you have pictures uploaded you can view the actual picture or you can see a text document almost like you would on your computer. The app even allows you to organize your files more precisely by creating different folders for storage.

Once you have all of the files you want to move to another computer you can take your device to another computer and upload them to that one in the same manor.

All in all, the app is a great tool for a cheap price of only $1.99. I’m not quite ready to surrender my flash drive just yet. But with the ability to view and move your files without having to physically connect, Memory Stick is definitely worth checking out!

Verdict: 4.5/5 Stars
