My digital brain, aka Evernote gets an update, now with offline notebooks and more
December 24, 2009 | Robert Nelson
In my almost standard morning ritual of hitting that “Check for Updates” link in the applications section of iTunes, I was greeted with a nice surprise this time.
The Evernote app has been updated.
This update has brought the version up to 3.2.0 and with that comes quite a few new features. And as a Premium Evernote subscriber, this update was specially nice for me.
The new addition that I was most excited about was the addition of offline notebooks. Which means that premium subscribers can now “download and store any/all of your notebooks, making them available offline.”
But that is not to say the update is not worthy of those who are not premium subscribers because that is just the first of many improvements that were made. Additionally, the app also was given;
- Any note created or viewed on the device is stored locally for quick access at any time
- Search through local notes and favorites, even without a network connection
- New options for editing rich text notes
- Audio note recording time doubled to 20 mins
- Search during sync:No more “Already communicating with server” message
- Huge performance improvements, tons of bug fixes
- Added support for 11 languages
And finally, for anyone that may be on the fence about becoming a Premium subscriber — you can now do so directly from within the app.
