Very little humans know the truly vicious acts and disgusting things that happen behind the scenes in the animal kingdom. For example, did you know that brown squirrels are often targeted and tormented by gray squirrels whom fling their nuts at them? Sadly, I was under the impression that squirrels were soft, nice little mammals who would never even consider throwing away their precious nuts. But Nut Chuckin has proved me wrong! Nut Chuckin, a game for the iPhone or iTouch, proves exactly how mean squirrels are!

In the game, you play the role of a weak, brown squirrel who goes by the name of Risoo. Risoo happens to be the chosen target for all of the squirrel bullies in the forest. Your goal is move up through the levels, or move up the branches, and try to survive the rabid onslaught of the gray squirrel army. At first, you’ll have to avoid petty squirrels who hurl nuts at Risoo’s head. But as you progress through the levels you’ll find more difficult enemies like squirrels that appear to be on steroids or extremely acrobatic ones.

The controls for Nut Chuckin are extremely fun and impressive. To avoid flying nuts tilt your device left or right to scurry in that direction. Then tap to grab a nut out of the air and tap again to throw it at an enemy. The graphics for this game are also impressive, with details that can be prepared to an actual console video game. However, the one downside I found was the repetitive feeling of Nut Chuckin. No matter how far I progressed and how many different villains I faced, I constantly felt like I’ve played the same situation before.

The game was fun enough to last a couple of minutes, and I did find myself turning to it in deep boredom. The impressive graphics and controls do put it a step above most games. At $.99 I would say its fairly priced. So check out Nut Chuckin now!
