Study Finds AT&T Still King of 3G Speeds

After getting beat up repeatedly by customers and competitors, perhaps AT&T can take some solace in a recent study by Root Wireless. The study finds that in several major metropolitan areas, AT&T has the fastest 3G speeds.
The details, according to iPhone Central:
Overall, AT&T’s average 3G data speeds ranged from a low of 246Kbps in New York and a high of 428Kbps in Dallas. Verizon, meanwhile, had average 3G speeds ranging from 195Kbps in Seattle to 259Kbps in Chicago.
The report also mentioned that AT&T and Verizon’s data connectivity failure rates are fairly comparable at 1-3%. Sprint, on the other hand, had failures of 11% and higher.
The report confirms what AT&T has been saying all along about their networks being faster—but aside from that, it doesn’t really help AT&T too much. They still have less data coverage nationwide than Verizon, and there are still a great deal of voice and network saturation issues that AT&T needs to resolve.
