Tipulator App Review: How Much is Enough?

Tipulator App Review: How Much is Enough?

The holiday season is upon us and if you have company in town you know just how hectic it can be to feed everyone. So you can take the easy way out and go to a restaurant. The only problem is you have to go to a nice, sit-down place or everyone will think you’re cheap right? Then when the meals over you have to go through all the fuss of calculating who owes what and how much to tip. Well the Tipulator app for the iPhone or iTouch can solve that last problem for you.

Tipulator is your run of the mill, basic tip calculating app that strives to rise above the rest via good looks. And the well done graphics and easy use of this app do help it shine. However, it isn’t worth the extra dollar compared to a free app. The app doesn’t do anything extra compared to a free tip calculating app, which leads to the question of why spend the money?

Tipulator performs all of the essential tasks that you would expect in an app like this. One, you can enter the total of a bill and the percent of tip you want to leave. The app will then tell you how much the tip should be in dollars and the bills total. The app can also split the bill and tell you how much each party or person owes.  And that’s basically all the app does. I searched through the app store and found at least 5 free apps that perform the same exact duty.

All in all, the app does it job and looks good doing it. However, I just don’t see the point in spending $.99 when you can download a similar app for free. But if you have to have a tip app that looks good and performs fine, then check out Tipulator.

Verdict: 3/5 Stars

Try the Guest Check app. http://www.apptuit.com. It differs by calculating the tip relative to food quality and service.
