uKnowit App Review: Cram Your Brain
December 17, 2009 | Cody Buchanan

In my opinion, some of the most interesting and addicting apps are those who contain little or no interaction at all. Who would think that such a technical masterpiece like the iPhone or iTouch would be host to such lowly apps? Well actually, I’ve found myself constantly lost in a world of apps just so. And one of the most enthralling apps I’ve found to date is uKnowit.
The app, brought to us by Baba Ganu, is a goldmine of 10,000 of the oddest, yet interesting facts out there. Ever wondered how fast hair grows? Well uKnowit can tell you! The app is set up as a basic browsing app, meaning you open it and browse through a completely random list of facts. To browse through facts, simply flick the page like you’re reading a book. If an app interests you enough, you can set it as a favorite with a tap turning the background purple. You also have the option of sharing with a friend by emailing them the fact.
All of the facts in this app are short, sweet and to the point. You don’t have to skip over long, endless pages of writing to get the info you want. However, the short facts and small writing leads to a lack of interest of appearance on the page. But keep in mind your not in this for visual pleasure, but factual knowledge!
The app also offers a few other features like the ability to shuffle the facts around. Or you can tap “Learn More” to be taken to a Google web page with suggested search phrases. All in all, the app is pretty addicting and amusing. At $.99 uKnowit is definitely worth checking out!
Verdict: 4/5 Stars

Unsubscribing from your RSS feed because I'm tired of not getting a link to the app in iTunes.
