Useless App of the Day: Clink-Clink

In the first useless app  that I’ll be featuring here at iPhonefreak — Clink-Clink — you can clink glasses with your friends, virtually. Of course, the app assumes that you know someone else dumb enough to also get it — when in actuality, you’ll most likely be clinking alone. The app does offer a bit of functionality though; you can use it to exchange contact information with friends. But again, that assumes they’re also running Clink-Clink,  and I wouldn’t wager any bets on that.

I’m not sure what companies are hoping to accomplish with simple apps like these, but I don’t see how they’re helping to build their brand. If anything, it shows that they’re just down for the latest fad — which in this case is iPhone apps.

Instead of this app, check out Bump. It’s currently the most convenient way to share information with other iPhone users, and they’ve also recently added cross-compatibility support for Android. Bump is also free, and is pretty much the most popular method of sharing contact information I’ve seen on the iPhone.
