Apple, Microsoft in talks to replace Google with Bing as default iPhone search

Just reading the title alone that sounds pretty shocking, and is likely to get many upset with the whole Apple/Microsoft fanboy thing going on and all. I am sure many are asking, how could iPhone users be expected to use Bing as a default search engine? Well, for starters I will say that Bing search, both on the web and the iPhone app is actually pretty nice. But that aside.

And before anyone gets to upset, lets just say that the talks are reportedly happening and have “been under way for weeks.” The news is coming courtesy of Business Week, who are quoting the story as coming from “two people familiar with the matter.”

The whole possibility is being suggested as coming from the fact that Google is now a potential threat in the mobile market.

Of course, the whole issue may not even be that big of a deal — even if it actually happens. I say that because its not like Google as a search option is likely to go away, it just would not be default. Which would mean that if you disliked Bing enough you could always switch it back in the settings.

Personally I like Apple, I like Google and like the iPhone and Google Search but at the same time think there is some humor to be found if this deal goes through. If nothing else, it would certainly give Microsoft a nice little bump in the world of search engines.

Bing is for Microsoft so it is ok to used Bing but for Apple wants google to be the default search engine. Because most users used google for searching than Bing..
