Making music using your iPhone is nothing new – we listed seven video examples a while back – and even those who don’t own an iPhone have often heard of apps such as Ocarina, and the possibilities they offer. However, this title may be a new one on many, but if the video below is anything to go by, we could be seeing a lot of new music coming out of the iPhone over the coming months.
The app in question is Voice Band and it uses sampled sounds of real instruments which replace the sound of your voice on the final version of your recording, with a total of 10 to build your tune with. It’s not just a toy either, as it has a metronome and scale, an auto-pitch and an adjustable octave for musicians to play with. There’s even the option to play along with songs stored in your iPod library. Obviously you’ll need a decent microphone to get the most out of the app, but we suspect it’ll work just fine with the standard item too.
The real attraction of Voice Band is that rather than only flatter those who are simply messing around with it, it’ll really shine when someone who is musically inclined takes over. Not only that, but we think it shows off the seemingly endless ability of the iPhone itself! Voice Band is available now for $2.99 in the US or £1.79 in the UK.
