Do you Want a Free App?

How about a free app everyday?  And what if that free app previously cost money, but is now yours for free?  This is the idea behind FreeAppaDay.com which is due to open its virtual doors on the 18th January and aside from offering free applications, it’s designed to make discovering new content inside the iTunes App Store a little easier.

The site is the brainchild of four developers, ICS Mobile, OpenFeint, Tapjoy and Blacksmith Games, all of whom have released successful apps, with TapDefense, Navy Patrol: Coastal Defense and Plushed among them.  OpenFeint’s social gaming network will also feature heavily.

The site promises to concentrate on quality applications and will offer an email alert to let subscibers know when an app in their chosen favorite categories becomes available for free.  You’ll have to be quick though, as the app offers will last for 24 hours only, then it’s on to the next one.

The team behind FreeAppaDay were also responsible for the ‘Appventcalendar’ before Christmas, and this will return again for Easter.  Also, if you’re a developer, you can approach the site to recommend your app for inclusion.

Roll on the 18th January!
