FantasyLens App Review: Replace the Face

FantasyLens App Review: Replace the Face

Have you ever been somewhere you can get your picture taken and put it into another. Maybe you want to place your face on a bodybuilders figure? Or see what you’d look like as Mona Lisa? Or how about seeing what you’d look like as an astronaut? Well you don’t have to work out for years, hire a painter or join NASA to do any of these. All you need is the FantasyLens app for your iPhone or iTouch.

FantasyLens, an app by Widgetize, is an app that allows you to place yours or other peoples faces into 39 different pictures. First, browse through the thirty nine options until you choose one you want to place your image into. Next, select the picture you want to add from your photo library. Then, use your finger to line up the face in your imported picture with the blank spot in the photo in the app. Obviously, each face is a little different so try making small, precise movements to get it just right. If you’re not satisfied the first time, feel free to start over. Once you’ve created your new work of art, you can save it back into your photo library to share with friends via email and picture messaging!

Although FantasyLens brags more pictures then most of it’s competing apps, it’s bound to get boring eventually. There’s only so many times you can make silly pictures. It’d be nice to see future updates that give you the ability to add sound and some animation, but for now the app does a fairly entertaining job.

I couldn’t find any mechanical bugs or problems throughout the entire use. It’s pretty easy to use and self-explanatory if you ever get lost. All in all, for the cheap price of only $.99 it’s definitely worth checking out!

Verdict: 4/5 Stars
