MyNewPlace App Review

With the housing market in crisis, it’s no surprise that hundreds upon thousands of Americans are being forced to move every week. And a lot of them are moving into smaller houses or even apartments. There are plenty of ways to search for apartments, but few ways to do so while disconnected from the computer. And the best way by far to do so is the MyNewPlace app for the iPhone or iTouch. Whether you’re moving out of your parents house, starting a family or just looking for a change in scenery, MyNewPlace can help you find your new home.

The app is backed by a website with the same name, so right off the bat users can expect high performance and information from this app. Just like any online search you might conduct, you can search by location, distance, bedrooms, bathrooms, price and amenities. The app then displays a list of potential matches that you can tap to view.

MyNewPlace includes the obvious features that you would expect, like photos and maps to an apartment that you like. But also throws in a few features you normally wouldn’t see. For one, you can take your own photos and notes while in the app and save them for later reference. Two, with one simple tap you can directly call the listed phone number for an apartment manager or land lord. And three, you can comprise a detailed list of any apartments you’re interested in and the app will keep them organized for you!

Now in all honesty, I can’t see finding and deciding to rent an apartment solely with the help of this app alone. Mainly because the search options are few, the pictures are small and you have to wonder how many apartments are listed in the app compared to the actual number where you’re looking. But because MyNewPlace is free, its an app definitely worth picking up if your house hunting!

Verdict: 4.5/5 Stars
